On the 2nd June 1953 the whole country celebrated the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth - a joy filled time for many that had emerged from the war and years of rationing.

Braithwell and Micklebring organised a day to remember making floats and having a procession through the villages with fancy dress competitions at the school.
